He knew that fedoras, gatsbys and duckbills were the trend, but he also knew he could raise the bar. So with a $5,000 loan and plenty of determination, he founded the New Era Cap Company and began to revolutionize the headwear industry. </p> <p> </p> <p>His vision led to caps that combined fashion and relevance with quality and individuality. And although the desire for those classic silhouettes dwindled after a few years, Koch was ready with his next business venture – the introduction of the baseball cap. </p> <p> </p> <p>Although the 59FIFTY has become a signature piece for our brand, it was important to keep these styles alive.
