Our presence on the field may be what got us noticed, but it was our entrance
into the fashion world that set us apart. It began in 1996 when film director
Spike Lee contacted New Era with an unusual request – a scarlet red Yankee
cap. At that time, producing MLB caps outside of team colors required special
permission. Several were produced and Spike wore the cap to game three of the
1996 World Series in Atlanta. The rest, as they say, is history. That moment
served as a catalyst to create licensed product in fashion colorways, allowing
us to bring you the biggest and most diverse headwear in the world. Now we
want you to separate yourself from the pack. Find a cap that speaks to you.
